We get it a lot. The blank stare. “So…um…do you make cakes or something?” “Glacier Cake” is an anagram of our kids’ names. Because they are the reason we wake up every morning.

Glacier Cake specialises in portraits of families, couples and children. To us, ‘family’ encompasses so much more than just studio portraits. We are passionate about weddings, birth, newborns, engagement, maternity – anything that defines you as a family defines us as your family photographer.

Our pet peeve is photographer that promise you an experience you will remember and then pressure you with a hard-sell. We are confident that our work will sell itself – we don’t need to!

Glacier Cake was first established as Elizabeth Halford Photography in April 2009. In only one whirlwind year, we’ve expanded and are catering to many different clients, but our main focus remains on you and your family. Period.

{The ‘We’ of Glacier Cake}
So who’s this ‘we’? ‘We’ are Steven & Elizabeth Halford.
P
Elizabeth started her passion as a photographer at the age of ten with her first Kodak 110 Instamatic and has been full-steam-ahead ever since. She grew up in Orlando, Florida and has lived in England for four years with her three crazy kids and one (slightly crazy) husband. In addition to actually practicing photography, Elizabeth is heavily involved in blogging on the subject and has a large following on ElizabethHalford.com where she shares her knowledge with aspiring photographers.
Elizabeth has also been featured weekly on DPS and in Canon’s PhotoYou magazine.

Steven is the heart of Glacier Cake. As we have grown so rapidly, Steven is becoming increasingly involved in the daily runnings of Glacier Cake. Even if that means spending countless hours caring for the kids (nappies and everything!) while Elizabeth is out photographing. His college studies focused on photography and theatre so Steven is excellent when it comes to helping our clients move around in their shoot and when no one can get kids to laugh, Steven saves the day!P
While living in America, Steven worked at Walt Disney World and learned to care for customers from the company who wrote the book on customer service.
